beach day!

Yesterday was the first real summer day of 2008 in Malmö. I know the weather was fantastic when we were in Florida but that doen´t really count since I wasn´t home :) I started work at 4 pm and had plans to go to the gym before that but when I woke up and saw totally blue skies I decided to bring my book and head down to "Ribban"instead. This is the old "kallbadhus" in Malmö- It was build sometime in the beginning og the 1900 and still serves the same purpose. You pay an enterance fee of I think 80 kroner and they have a sauna and then you swim in the open sea.

Tonight I´m going with the girls to Carib Creol for dinner and drinks.

Sunday evening I spent at my parents house. My mom is fantastic with flowers. This is just a peek at what she does.

Tonight I´m going to Lund after work for our engagement dinner. Mereds family is here for the week and Bibbis parents are making fantastic Ethiopian food! I love it!

I also go a new job today! Starting the 1st of September I´m working at the hotel 27 in Copenhagen. Thanks to my fantastic friend and now co-worker, Maria, I starting a new carrer in Denmark!!! Thanks darling!

Fantastic weekend

I had the most amazing weekend in a long time! My grandmother had her B day on Friday and that was the main reason why I wanted to go to Stockholm. My grandmother lives in England and usually comes home for the summer for a couple of weeks and since she´s leaving tomorrow, Tuesday, I had to go up this weekend!

I´ve taken loads of fun pics so I´m gonna post them tomorrow. It´s more fun to show you the weekend in pictures then just in words so you have to be patient.......

15 hours and 23 minutes left until the auction is finished!!! Looks like my trip to Stockholm is happening after all! I would be so happy! I miss my sisters and my friends so much! and it´s my grandmothers B day!

So far nobodys put another bid....they probably all read my blogg and got intimidated.....hihihi

That´s how I feel. Remember the ticket I told you about....Well some moron piece of......(swearing) just put a bid higher then mine. And people....there are like 10 tickets for the same train, same destination that leaves at the same time and only like 4 of them have a bidder. So instead of putting a bid for one of those for only 1 krona some idiot (that probably smells bad too) had to put a bid for 2 kronor on MY ticket. MY TICKET PEOPLE! To be continued.....

.........not stopping withouth a fight....

Woke up this morning with the hopes of going to spinning but I was so dead tired. So I set the alarm for 7.45 instead and decided to train at work instead. So here I am, almost 9 am and I just had a protein shake and gonna train. The sun is shining and I´m hopefully going to Stockholm tomorrow!

I´m off Fri - Sat and I´m a big fan of a site called tradera.com. It´s an auction site where you can bid on anything from food to furniture. So the traintickets to Stockholm from Malmö is only 1 krona. 1 people! That´s not even 25 cents! If this is the case I´m working tomorrow morning, taking the train to Copenhagen for 2 job interviews. Home, sleep go up at 5.30 to catch the train that leavs 7.11. Meet up Aaron ( my little sisters boyfriends that´s here from the States visiting) and then celebrate grannys B-day on Saturday. I soooo wanna go!!!

Mid week report

Wednesday. Probably one of the most boring days of the week according to me. It really sucks. Eventhough the weather down here is fantastic I´ve been at work ALL DAY LONG while people have been out eating ice cream. It´s so unfair.

- "soon it´s weekend and then you´re off".

Yeeeees, but guess what? Then it´s gonna rain thank you very much. and we just bought a new grill for our balcony!

Yesterday was yet another bikram yoga pass and I felt as I was going to die. As the teacher said and I quote:

-"you have to die first to be born again". I know exactly what she means by that.

But today I feel fantastic. I went to bed at 10pm yesterday and slept like a baby until 7.15 when my alarm went off this morning. Had fruit salad and green tea for breakfast, salad for lunch and I´m gonna make lentil soup for dinner with potatoes, carrots and leak. I feel great. Gotta get inshape now for the wedding next year :)

Today was my first time at Bikram yoga and let me tell you, that was no piece of cake! For those of you that doesn´t know what it is, let me tell you. It´s yoga, 16 different poses, in 40 degrees, 90 minutes!!! No piece of cake. Everything went fine until we had to lie down on our stomachs. Then I felt my breakfast tickeling my thought. (hals? do you spell it that way? looks wierd?)

I bought a 10 day card for 150 crowns and I´ve booked myself into another class again tomorrow! Wow, I´m so proud of myself. But my carrot is getting married next year so BEACH 2009 HERE I COME!!!

As always, a million things has happend since I last wrote on the blogg. I quit my job (ending 31st of August) went on vacation to Florida, got engaged. WOW yes I know you read correctly. I got engaged. Or maby it´s called WE got engaged? Anywho, we are getting married next year, June, in the Caribean. We´re taking all of our family and close friends on a cruise and getting of on one of the islands to say I do. Can´t wait!!!

Until that happends, I gotta find a new job!

So many other fantastic things are happening in my friends lives that I´m very happy about!

Tessan is becoming her own boss staring a SPA in Stockholm. She finally decided to move home and is renting a room to have her own clients! So proud of you *puss*

Mollie is home from NY for the summer and graduated with honors from Pace. WOOOOOOW! Very proud of you too! She´s now in training in Stockholm to set up a new business office in NY this fall. She´s gonna do a fantastic job!

A&I that got married last year August are having twins in a couple of weeks! I+m so happy for them. I´m gonna go to Stockholm in a couple of weeks and I promised them I´ll come and visit. My bet is on girls..... :=)

Well, I just finished work and now I´m on my way home. Tonight I´m meeting up Linda, Viktoria and Susanna for some drinks. We´ll so how the night ends. I´ll try and put up some picures tomorrow.

Pre-weekend blogging

Been at work since 8.30 this morning. I thought that there would be absolutely no people here today since it was a national holiday here yesterday and today is a so called "klämdag" (squeeze day) which directly means that since it´s only one day between the Holiday and the weekend a lot of people squees in an extra free day and go some where. Me? I have to work. Ofcourse. But Fridays are only half days so we´re only open until 1 pm which is always fantastic.

I´m meeting Tessan for lunch at a new place that has their grand opening today at 12 called "Red Fellas" . It´s a new juice and salad bar here in Malmö that we have been waiting for EVER to open. But now we don´t have to wait no more!!!

Then tonight we´re going to the movies. Either to see 27 dresses or the new Steve Carell movie. We´ll see what we end up with.

Tomorrow is Saturday and me and another girl are doing an event/promotion for the gym so I´ll be busy all day. In the evening there´s a club that we´re probably going to that are playing hip hop and on Sunday I´m helping a friend and her brother to move and then dinner in Lund for some Ethiopian food! Fantastic weekend! Sorry there won´t be any pictures though since Mered took the camera with him to Stockholm.

Valborgsmässo afton

Hey people!

Yesterday was Valborgsmässo afton here in Sweden. For all of you non-swedes that reads this blogg it a holiday here which mean that you work half day, lit wood on fire (bon fire) and get really stuidly drunk. Oh, yea, it´s also supposed to celebrate that spring is here, but hey, if that´s an excuse to drink, then ok.

As all swedes, I worked half day. So at 1 pm and closed the door, vaccumed and went to the Systembolag to buy alchol for the night. Meet Bibbi´s dad there. I know, I´m 27 years old but when you meet a friends dad buying alchol I always get a kind of ohu ohu feeling. I know, it´s so studid. But especially on a day like yesterday when everyone know that is´s fylla time.

Anywho,we were supposed to have a BBQ but the weather didn´t look to promising so I decided to make a pastasallad instead with turkey. Took a shower and made myself pretty and took my bike over to Nobelvägen 73 B to casa Awoke & co.

BBQ, drinks, music, new people and post importantly CAKE! Then cab ride to Buddah Lounge...the rest of the night you can see in picture mode on Facebook. Enjoy....

Sunday turned out to be a fab day so far. Went to the gym and then I went to see my sissi at work. She´s flying home to Stockholm tonight for a job interview on Tuesday. I´m gonna miss her very very very very much when she leaves. When we come back from Florida in June she won´t be here no more. Sunday = funday. NOT

Yet another week has come to its end...Didn´t do much this weekend. We were supposed to go out on Friday but due to a minor issue called CSN and a faktura of 7,500 kronor I decided to stay at home and wait for Wednesday to come. suck.

Instead I stayed home with my darling boyfriend and watched tv. Went to bed early and depressed of beeing poor.

Yesterday we had a pancake breakfast, me and Tessie, since Mered was working. After faffering around the house all morning we decided to meet Stina for ice cream and a friend of hers, Elin, came to join us. Fantastic weather! I love Malmö when the weathers like this. I probably love all places as long as there is sun. I can´t stand winter. Why do I live here? When I was in HIM I rememberd all of us saying that we would NEVER go back to our home countries after we were finished. My God, what happend!? Well, not all of us went home. Found an old friend on MSN yesterday, Dito. He´s from Indonesia and he´s living well in Dubai at the moment. So not all of us went home.

Today is Saturday and I just had breakfast. Now I´m off to the gym for some functional training, then meet my sister. Then yoga, dinner. SLEEEEEP . Weather sucks today so its nothing really to put in the christmas tree if you know what I mean :=)

Sunshine Thursday

What a fantastic day!

Woke up at 10.30am with the sun in my eyes. Had some breakfast with my sissi, watched Oprah and then decided to go for a walk. Dind´t get very far before we realized we were hungry and went to one of our favourite places to eat called "bakom muggen". It´s a small place that serves lunch, coffe, cookies etc. We had a salad and chatted. Then we took a stroll in the sun, bought a fantastic ice cream and sat by the canal and enjoyed the sunshine!

Started to work at 4pm and is at the moment NOT too keen on going home since Djurgården is playing again AIK on the tv. (for those of you that are not swedish, I don´t have to explain more than that they are 2 soccer teams) so we have an agreement. Mered has the until 9pm on the condition that he fixes dinner!!! yeay for girl power. hi hi hi!!!

Tomorrow I´m working half day and then it´s party at Buddha Bar! Yeay! I´m planing on staying in bed all Saturday hungover eating pizza and waiting for one of my best friends to call me from Canada! Yeay!

Mid week report

Wednesday and I´m blogging! Can you believe it? No, me neither. Well, I´m at work and we´re just about to close. I never blogg on work hours but it´s been very quiet here today and I´m going to spinning in a couple of minutes and realized that I haven´t been writing anything in a while so....here I am!!

Not that anything happend though. What have I been up to? Well on Monday me and Tessan went to Bibbi´s school to get our hair done. I´m in preparation state for the 9th when I´m sitting model for Bibbi´s exam. She´s gonna cut my hair and make it even lighter than what I am now! I know what you are thinking, are you gonna let a student cut you´re hair?!! are you M.A.D? Wellm maby, but it´s just hair. It´s gonna grow out sooner or later so we´ll see what I´ll look like after that :=)

Time flies, gotta go to spinning now. I´m off tomorrow morning and me and Tessie are going for a walk so I´ll try and take some pictures to put up.

mommy week

this week my mom has been visiting due to my sisters exam in school. she was gonna be her model for 1930s hair on thursday night so she came down the day before to spend some money on her lovely daughters :=) first stop was lunch at our favourite place "Njutbar" where they have the most amazing salads!

then after strolling around malmö we went for a fika at "lilla kafferosteriet"

dinner at an italian restaurant at davishallstorg and then stellan skarsgårds new movie "Waz" which sucked ass. don´t see it!!

fixing day

Sunday turned out to be a fixing day. Started out with me HELPING Mered to change the tired to the car. Yes people, I helped! I helped rolling the tires from our storage to the parking, then I cleaned the inside of the car and the.....I spent the rest of the time on the phone....:=) well what do you expect, I do have a manicure you know. He thoght I did a good job as his side-kick... This is the same location at I took a photo only weeks ago when it was snowing. Now the park was full of purple flowers!

Then we went around what felt like the intire town of Malmö to find furiture for our balcony. Eded up buying flowers instead!

4 year anniversary

Ladies, take a good long look at this man. I just want you to know that he is taken! He´s all mine! He´s the most fantastic boyfriend anyone can ask for. All you guys out there, you could really learn something from this man. On Thursday we celebrated our 4 year anniversary and ofcours I kind of forgot about it :=( But he sure didn´t. I got woken up at 7 am by him and my sister entering the room declaring that I´m not going to work today! For all of you that knows me and know what a horrible organizing peronality I have that HATE not being in control, stared to run a loooong list in my head of things that I had to fix if I wan´t going to work. Turned out they had called Linda and gotten her to work for the day!
So I got up and me had bought fresh bread, orange juice and we had a loooong nice breakfast together.Then he told me to get dressed and then he swooped me away in the car and didn´t tell me where we were going.

After about 50 minutes in the car we ended up in Ystad which is a small town that reminds alot of Sigtuna where I´m from. They have a very known Spa called "Ystad Saltsjöbad" and he (with a little help of Tessie) ha made arrangements for the whole day with treatments! It was fantastic!

We arrived at the SPA at 10am and when we were finished and in the car again it was 4.30pm! We didn´t want to go home to we parked the car down town and strolled though the city and ended up with me buying Mered a watch for our anniversary. Since I forgot...... :=(
On our way back to the car we found a really cute little coffeeshop where it looked like the owner himself was cleaning the tables on the outside. We decided to have a fika and relax and just enjoy the rest of the day. Thank you baby! I had a fantastic day!
